Work & Travel USA program makes it possible for students like you to spend a memorable summer living and working in USA. The Work and Travel USA is designed to give you a first hand experiences in the U.S working with U.S citizens in temporary employment. Most importantly you earn money while immersing in the American life and culture.

What will I be doing?
While many Work and Travel USA participants choose to work in one of the fantastic amusement parks in the US during their summer break, there are thousands of cities and towns throughout America that can offer you a totally unique Work and Travel USA experience.  The sky is really the limit.

Am I eligible?

You must:

  • Be 18 – 29 years old
  • Be a current full-time polytechnic or university foreign or local student (Graduating students are welcome!)
  • Have a course duration of at least 2 years
  • Only participate on the J-1 program during your official university summer break
  • Hold a passport valid for at least one year from your departure date
  • Hold a return ticket to USA
  • Have sufficient funds of minimum US$1000 to support yourself throughout the program


Why should I do it?
By going on a work and travel program to USA, it allows you to get first-hand experience on how it's like living and working in a foreign country. Through international work experience, it helps you to gain self-confidence and also personal skills. You'll also act as a student ambassador for your home country (Singapore!) and enjoy a successful cross cultural exchange of experience. Moreover, it's gonna be a lot of FUN, so why not?

Six Flags New England
Location: Agawam, MA (30 min from Hartford, CT and 1 hour and 30 min from Boston, MA)
Position Title: Amusement park worker
Pay Rate: $8.00/hour
Earliest work start date : 5 May
Latest work start date : 7 May
Earliest work end date : 22 July or 29 July
Minimum Work period : 13 Weeks

Six Flags Saint Louis
Location: Eureka, MO (30 min from Downtown St. Louis)
Position Title: Amusement park worker
Pay Rate: $7.50-$8.00/hour
Earliest Work Start date : 1 May 2012
Latest Work Start date : 6 May 2012
Earliest Work End date: 15 July 2012
Latest Work End date : 1 August 2012
Minimum Work period : 11 Weeks

Housing will be arranged by the program sponsor/employers, estimated to be USD125 per week.
Participants must purchase travel insurance with STA Travel to be able to embark on the program, the cost will be less than SGD100.

To register, you need to complete the online application form. Once your application has been received, a representative will be in contact with you within 3 to 5 working days for a pre-screening interview. Registration closes in January 2012 or when places are filled, whichever sooner.
