it was short! to be fair, the hotel is being renovated and redecorated. it has very friendly staff and is convenient for central nairobi. the city is ok but there is not a great deal to do there. its not a city to aim for, but a city to pass through enroute to somewhere else. so if you so have to stay in nairobi, you might as well pay as little as poss, and move on as soon as poss.

the friendly staff, the really well presented rooms, the tasty buffet breakfast, a super safe place to leave valuables, good location to excellent shopping areas - Biashara St and the City Market only minutes away, the rooftop swimming pool area, interesting and often skyline views from the windows and balconies, warm showers and clean bathrooms.
lovely place to stay in nairobi - highly recommended

very welcoming staff.
lovely rooms - not 'shabby' as many other reviews claim - everything was brand new and clean in the room we stayed in! it seems they currently are doing a lot of refurbishment, some of which was ongoing when i was there (but still caused little disturbance to my stay).
good breakfast.
felt safe - good for a first time visitor to nairobi.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. They "saved" my life arranging a day-tour through Nairobi. The Indian food is the best!

The hotel staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I felt very safe and secure in this hotel. The rooms are in need of some updating, but the general hotel area is nice and the rooftop area enjoyable for relaxing in the afternoon.

Nairobi has a reputation for being a dangerous place to travel through but this hotel was easy to find, very safe and the riverside shuttle bus can pick you up from reception to travel into Tanzania. The rooms, furniture and fixtures were old and tired but functional and breakfast was great.
